After planned several time ago, now Mercedes-Benz officially produces Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. In its announcement, Mercedes has released a video that aimed to the automotive journalists in Germany.
In the video, Mercedes shows where and how to assembly the SLS AMG GT3 in its factory that located in Germany. Starting from the initial phase installation of the body to the phase of painting the entire body.
The new Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is an emphatic continuation of AMG’s commitment to motor sports. AMG has been a pioneer in the motor sports world ever since its foundation in 1967
Further, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is designed for GT3 racing, this car has a new front face, which has a ventilation hood, carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and a large wing at the rear to increase down force.
Other devices include carbon fiber (CFRP) safety cell, braking system made from steel, six-speed sequential transmission racing version (with steering wheel shift paddles), and multi-disc differential with an integrated locking.
The interior of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is dominated by a functional racing car atmosphere, the steel rollover cage not only ensures the driver’s safety, but also adds additional reinforcement to the aluminum spaceframe. Another eye-catching feature is the racing bucket seat with a six-point seat belt and HANS system (Head and Neck Support).
Regarding the engine, the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is equipped with 6.3-liter engine with a V8, which claimed almost equal to standard SLS AMG version. This allows Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 to get acceleration from 0 – 62 mph or 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed over 186 mph or 300 km / hour.
